Eligibility:
- Applicants must meet the Genuine Student (GS) requirement, demonstrating study as the primary reason for traveling to Australia and access to sufficient financial resources.
- GS criteria assess circumstances, course selection relevance, and career benefits.
- Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (increased from 5.5 in March).
- Provide Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for all courses.
- Financial requirements depend on the primary course. From May 10, 2024, evidence of savings (minimum AUD 29,710 for a single applicant) is required to cover one year of living costs, tuition, and travel.
- Additional requirements may apply for dependents.
Dependents:
- Must be declared at the time of application.
Working Part Time:
- Most students can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during term time.
- Master's by research and doctoral students can work beyond 48 hours.
Costs:
- Application fee: AUD 1,600 (effective July 2024, 125% increase).
- Additional costs include health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.
- Health insurance is mandatory for the stay duration.
